Where it comes from
Our farmers and fishers work with animals from pure New Zealand land and sea — free-range, grass-fed, ethically raised beef and lamb, local poultry, and wild-caught seafood.
We take animal well-being seriously, and so do our farmers, fishers and suppliers. Every animal is farmed under New Zealand's Freedom Principles:
Our meat and organs are raised without artificial hormones.
New Zealand's temperate climate means animals have fields and rolling green hills to roam, 365 days a year. They are raised on pastures of grass, clover and native grasses, with no feedlots in sight. Our chickens are free-range, so they can roam, run, leap, bask and spread their wings.
As an island nation, New Zealand is surrounded by clean, pristine waters — the right place to sustainably farm New Zealand green mussels and catch fish. Our seafood is wild caught in the South Pacific Ocean and Sub-Antarctic waters.

Farming is part of Toby's DNA. His Turihaua farm has been run by his family since 1896. He is a firm believer in being not just a farmer, but a guardian of the land and the animals he cares for.
“If you don't look after the animals, for me, there's just very little point in farming.”
Brian is a free-range goat farmer based in Tokomaru Bay. His philosophy is simple: his animals feed on natural products grown in the ground, exactly what goats would choose for themselves.
“We look after the animals and the land for the next generation.”
John raises free-range deer in New Zealand's hill country. Wide open areas, rolling hills and natural shelter match the deer's natural habitat closely.
“My farming philosophy is to look after the stock, because if you look after them, they'll look after you.”
Robert is a free-range New Zealand lamb farmer who believes in letting his flock express their natural behaviour, across a varied landscape of tussocks, hills and gullies.
